From the North:
Take 610 West Loop southbound and exit Post Oak, then take the U-turn lane under the freeway at the Post Oak intersection. Take the second driveway on the right into the parking garage for 1233 West Loop South (it’s the *second* office tower). Inside the parking garage take an immediate right into the visitor parking, then walk back to the circular drive to enter the building lobby.

From the South:
Take the West Loop northbound, exit San Felipe/Post Oak, go through the lights at San Felipe and then Post Oak. Immediately after the Post Oak intersection, take the second driveway into the parking garage, etc.

About the panel
Cindy Pao joined Key Energy Services as a Technical Documentation Specialist in September 2008, where she currently provides user documentation and training materials for Key Energy’s user community. Cindy’s many projects include training and technical manuals; electronic forms for inspections, audits, safety observations, and human resources; learning management system (LMS) administration; policies and procedures; intranet content; and the Safety Management System (SMS). She is also learning the role of Instructional Designer so that she can help update the team’s current training materials. Prior to joining Key Energy, Cindy worked as an information developer and technical writer, primarily writing end-user documentation for software. Cindy also has experience creating technical documentation for computer networks, systems documentation for computer software, and department process and operations documentation.

Cindy holds a BA in English from the University of Minnesota. Cindy is a Senior Member of the Society for Technical Communication, where she served as Chapter President for two terms and is an avid volunteer for the Houston chapter and the International Board. She is the recipient of the Distinguished Chapter Service Award. STC Houston chapter received the Chapter Achievement Award and Chapter Pacesetter Award while Cindy was President.

Paul Mueller is President of Houston-based UserAid, which designs and implements innovative communication solutions that deliver information when and where users need it. Paul received a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.S. in Mathematics from Pennsylvania State University and has been involved in technical communication for more than 20 years. Paul has managed information development, usability, and graphic design teams across the United States, Bolivia, and India. Paul often presents conference sessions about embedded help, management topics, and technology-focused implementations.

Paul is a senior member of STC and he has served as a Director and a conference Track Manager for the Society. Paul is also active in his local STC community and has held various positions in the organization, including President, Vice President, Director, and Strategic Advisor. Paul received the Distinguished Chapter Service Award in 2006.

Ryan Bernard is the President of Houston-based Wordmark Associates, Inc. and has more than 35 years experience working as a consultant to business clients in a wide variety of industries including technology, manufacturing, energy, financial services, trading, transportation, engineering, and healthcare. He has worked with all levels of the corporate hierarchy, from the executive suite, human resources, sales, marketing, and distribution to the call center and help desk. He performs consulting and speaking engagements in U.S., Latin America, and Western Europe and has been an author or ghostwriter for four books.

Ryan’s early career experiences include work as an editor/journalist/ freelancer for Business Week, Newsweek, The Washington Post, The International Herald-Tribune, USA Today, and Houston City Magazine, among others.
